How to Program a LiftMaster Wireless Commercial Keypad
The LiftMaster Wireless Commercial Keypads are unique access control security systems designed for compatibility with one gate opener system. These keypads wirelessly transmit a signal to the operator when a valid 4-digit PIN, plus #, is pressed. Both the KPW5 and KPW250 are popular keypad choices for residential, light commercial, and solar applications. These keypads feature LED backlighting, a durable metal 12-key pad, and weatherproof housing. So, how do you program these keypads? Let's take a look!
LiftMaster Wireless Commercial Keypad Basic Programming
Basic programming will require that you put the keypad in programming mode first. To enter programming mode, enter the 6-digit Master Code (factory default code is 888888). Note that the backlighting will remain on while in programming mode. If an invalid code is entered, you will hear a tone, but the keypad will remain in programming mode. After 60 seconds of inactivity while in programming mode, the keypad will exit programming mode. You should start by resetting the Master Code.

- Enter Programming Mode: * (6-Digit Master Code) #
- Update Master Code: 09 # (New 6-Digit Master Code) # Repeat (New 6-Digit Master Code) #

Programming a LiftMaster Keypad to Gate Operator
Note: The Master Code and a PIN need to be set before the gate operator can be programmed.
- Press the Learn Button on the operator
- Within 30 seconds, enter a valid 4-digit PIN, then press #. A long tone will sound, indicating that the units are now communicating.
